The Tribhuvan airport in Kathmandu is Nepal’s only international airport. The important airlines that serve Kathmandu are Indian Airlines, Thai International, Bangladesh Biman, China Southwest Airlines, Druk Air, Qatar Airways, PIA- Pakistan Airlines, Gulf Air, Sahara Ailrlines, Jet Air, and Cosmic Air. The national carrier Royal Nepal Airlines and other international airlines operate flights to Kathmandu from Bangkok, Colombo, Calcutta, Delhi, Dhaka, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, Karachi, Lhasa, London, Osaka, Paris, Moscow, Paro, Singapore and Varanasi etc. Corporation (RNAC), operates flights to both Europe and Japan as well as the regional destinations.

By Land

There are just eight entry points into Nepal by land open to foreigners, from which six are from India and two from Tibet. There are regular bus services to Kathmandu from all the borders points. Bus services are available easily from India to Nepal.The crossing points from India include Mahendranagar, Dhangadhi and Nepalgunj in the west, Sunali, Birgunj and Kakarbhitta in the east. You can board direct buses to the Nepal border from Delhi, Vanarashi, Calcutta, Patna and Darjeeling and you can cross the border into Nepal from Tibet via Kodari.
