Mardi Himal trek is one of the bitten Eco-tourism based trekking destination in Annapurna Himalayan Region. Mardi Himal is the name given to the feature of the long rising ridge and its summit that from the southwesterly lower slope of Mount Machhapuchhare, the famous triangular skyline that is seen from the Phewa Lake at Pokhara. Mardi Himal is located in the east of the Modi Khola, across the valley from Hiunchuli.

The emphasis of Mardi Himal trek is on the forest and wilderness zone of these mountains. Mardi Himal trek, follows the least trodden trail away from the trekkers madding crowd with and essence of exploration. We ascend through Hindu villages and pristine oak and rhododendron forest to alpine campsite that afford close up dramatic scenery of sacred Mt. Machapuchare, Mardi Himal and Annapurna. The great ice fields and the blue glaciers of the Annapurna sanctuary walls lie below us. We descend from the different route to the warm valley and friendly villages on the bank of Mardi river still away from the used trekking routes. Mardi Himal is considered to be an ideal introduction to trekking in the high Himalaya, particularly if you have limited time available. No previous experience of high altitudes is necessary, as every precaution will be taken to ensure gradual and thorough acclimatization during the trek to the mountain.

Mardi Himal Trek Season

From mid September to November and from March to May are the best season for this trek as these are the peak trekking seasons in Nepal. During winter season and monsoon season, there will be risky. There will be chances of snow fall during winter time and during the monsoon season, there might be risk of leeches and heavy rainfall that might causes flood and landslides in the Himalayas.

Day 1
Arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to Hotel.

Day 2
Drive to Pokhara, overnight stay at hotel.

Day 3
Drive to kande, trek to pritam deurali via Australian camp and pothana. Overnight stay at tea house.

Day 4
Trek to forest camp. Overnight stay at tea house.

Day 5
Trek to high camp via low camp and badal danda. Overnight stay at tea house.

Day 6
Hike to Mardi Himal base Camp, trek to low camp. Overnight stay at tea house.

Day 7
Trek to sidding. Overnight stay at tea house.

Day 8
Trek to lwang. Overnight stay at tea house

Day 9
Trek to pokhara via hemja. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 10
Drive to Kathmandu, overnight stay at hotel.

Day 11
Final departure.

How difficult is to trek Mardi Himal?

Mardi Himal trek is a short and easy trek compared to those in Annapurna region. If you are trekking with a guide, with proper trekking equipments and well preparation, you might not to face with difficulties. While going up and up, take a rest. Acclimatization is important during Himalayas trekking in Nepal. You will be trekking for 5-6 hours a day in average 45km distance covered.

If you are in a family or a group, we recommend to hire a porter to carry your backpack. They will help your kids for safety trekking.

How much does Mardi Himal Trek cost?

Mardi Himal trek cost depends upon the package you choose. If you are experienced trekker, you can complete the trek in a short days. So, the cost might slightly low.
