Karbakeli eco trek is newly launched trekking trail in Annapurna region. The trek introduces you the ethnic culture and tradition of Pun Magar Community along with culture, Himalayas, nature and alpine landscapes. The trek takes you to the Karbakeli Thaan temple which is dedicated to Karbakeli Baba (god of Pun Magar Community).
First launched in 18th May, 2018 for foreigners, this eco-friendly trek covers natural and cultural aspects of Annapurna area. The trekking route was first explored on April 2018 by a team of Trekking Agencies Associations of Nepal (TAAN), Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), Nepal Mountaineering Assocations (NMA) alliance with the local people of Karbakeli Village and Karbakeli Village Tourism Developement Committee (KVTDC).
The main attraction of the trek is Karbakeli Thaan (Temple) of the Karbakeli Baba and his family. The temple is located in Kaphal Danda at Annapurna Municipality – 08. Karbakeli Thaan is situated at an altitude of 2332m from sea level. Indigineous community, Pun Magar pay due respect to their Chief God of the Earth – Karbakeli Baba and his family.
Alongside the cultural and natural exploration of the trek, you will have opportunity to witness the beautiful Himalayan ranges including Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Tukuche Peak, Nilgiri and Annapurna South.
There will be 2-3 start hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara whereas tea houses or homestay during the trek.
In Kathmandu and Pokhara, you will have breakfast as per package. But, you can enjoy the most common international cuisines in a restaurant nearby your hotel. Whereas you will have breakfast, lunch ad dinner throughout the trek. Enjoy the Nepalese cuisine and culture on our farewell dinner offered by.
As this is short and easy trek, you need not have prior mountaineering skills. But, hiking, running and swimming are recommended before trekking. The trekking trail is mountain road with the frequent ups and downs. Walking slowly and carefully is wiser.
Guide, porter and staff arrangement
All our guides are experienced and trained by Nepal Government. They know everything about the route, possible solution on difficulties and updates. You need not to worry about the tea-houses, attractions information and help on emergency. The porter and staff are friendly and local so that you can enjoy your holiday.
To join a trek in Nepal, we recommend to have insurance with you. This will cover everything on emergency if needed. You can buy insurance by yourself as we do not sell or arrange it for you. We only assist you in need.
Digital camera and Mobile Charging
During this trek, you will get the charging facilities on most of the places where you stay. But, it requires some service charge as power service at mountain area is not easily available. Please bring two pin adapters and battery with you.
Tips for guide and porters
Tipping to guides, porters, drivers and staffs is not mandatory but expected in Nepal. We recommend you to tip at least 10% of your total trip cost to thank for their help and co-ordination.
