Six People killed in Altitude Helicopter Crash, one woman survived

Altitude Air Helicopter Crash

An Altitude Air helicopter with seven passengers and crew aboard who has gone missing near Rubi Valley in Dhading district since this morning is found crashed in a dense forest area bordering Dhading and Nuwakot.

At least six people including a Japanese tourist Hiromi Komatsu (68) were killed in a Altitude Helicopter crash on Saturday.

The ill-fated helicopter with a call sign 9N-ALS AS350 B3e was carrying six passengers including a Japanese tourist along with a senior pilot. The chopper lost the communication since 7:45 a.m. local time.

One woman passenger Lho Ani Dolma Diki of Gorkha who suffered injures was rescued alive.

The Chopper lost the communication since 7:40 am local time.

The deceased have been identified as senior captain Nischal KC, Hiromi Komatsu (68) from Japan, Dilli Bahadur Gurung (40) of Ramechhap, Chhiri Sherpa (37) of Dolakha, Sunil Tamang (22) of Sindhupalchowk and Chhowang Nurbu of Gorkha.

The helicopter was en route to Kathmandu from Samagaun airlifting a patient along with other passengers.

The incident held at the mouth of biggest travel and trekking season, Autumn season from September to November.

Manaslu Trekking and Expedition is regarded as the best trip during September-November season and sees a large number of foreign tourists.
